A Lifelong Foundation in Building

My immersion in construction started when I was a child, working alongside my father, who was a carpenter. After college, I worked as a rough frame carpenter building foundation forms and houses from the ground up. In an effort to absorb every aspect of the trade and gain a deeper understanding of how structures go together, I expanded into plumbing, electrical, HVAC, roofing, and appliance installation. While I have built custom homes from the ground up, the bulk of my career was forged in hands-on kitchen and bath remodels. I eventually returned to college to formalize that experience, earning degrees in Construction Management and Building Inspection.

The Mentor Who Started It All

In 2013, Donald Walker of ACE Home Inspection—one of the original big names in San Diego home inspection since the 1980s—took me under his wing and taught me everything he knew about the profession. Seeing my potential, Don chose to help me launch my own private business rather than holding me back, and I owe him everything. That deep background in building and inspection gives me tremendous, real-world insight into the defects I call out today. Beyond residential homes, I've even built out commercial breweries and tasting rooms across San Diego, giving me a unique appreciation for complex structural and mechanical systems.
